• Received reply from Jolan. Reply is interesting to say the least. His choice to change the field of battle has earned my respect to some degree. He invited me to a "poker night" with several of his associates. The fact that he cheated using Trump is coincidental. He has his uses.
• Attended inquest held by Church into the matter of the kelp witches. They are taking this innocuous cult far more seriously than I had anticipated. I will need to increase efforts into investigation of this "cult". This will be made more difficult by the fact that I will no longer simply have Rolfe to contend with, but force of the entire magnanimous Church. Powers preserve me. The woman that was interrogated was none other than Llewella's daughter Serenity. Were she not escorted by my brother, I may have had more sympathy for her grilling.
• On that topic, had an interesting conversation with my cousin Sebastian. He has drawn many of the same conclusions into the symbolism of the prophecy. In addition, he pointed out that there may be a connection to Martin, given that he has ties to both Rebma and Amber. Sebastian has taken on the task of looking into Martin, as I have had other things to concern me of late. We have decided we will also take a trip to Tir-na Nog'th when the moon is full, four days hence.
• Also on the topic of the Church is Sophia. The poor foolish girl had the audacity to ask the Church if they knew the difference between good and evil. Apparently she felt she had been able to detect "good" emanating from the spot where the kelp witch had manifested. Personal investigation determined that there was indeed an element of the divine at the location where the woman had appeared. Attempts to summon a benim were surprisingly easy. However, I found the being to be impertinent and secretive. I will need to pry its secrets from it. I'm hesitant to call this creature intrinsically "good" however. In the A'lbarrian mythos from which I studied my sorcery, the Creator which the benefics serve, though loving, is also known to destroy cities filled with the wicked. Sometimes in order to cure a disease, you must first excise the tumor.
• Also of note at the castle there was a peculiar apparition. It proved to be neither spiritual nor sorcerous in nature. Likely a natural ability of some shadow race. Perhaps even Chaosian. May need to direct this towards Rolfe and get him all fired up about that particular crusade.
• Met with Fiona to discuss logistics of my tagging system. She seems to feel it will work.
• Of a final note, I received a curious puzzle box from outside of Amber. Will need to have it analyzed for poisons before playing with it.

To do list:

• Seek permission to construct magical circle for summoning and binding benefic spirit in the ballroom of Amber. May need to expand circle into full hexagram in order to perform a greater divination should the benefic prove to be particularly recalcitrant.
• Meet with Jolan. I believe he may still consider me an antagonist, when I ultimately want him as an ally.
• Travel to Tir-na Nog'th.
• Check up on resources in shadow. Current events have made me postpone this particular activity.
• Scan puzzle box for poisons or other similar traps.
• Work on method of tagging girls in Amber.
