Blood and ShadowBorn on Paris on Shadow Earth in the early 1920s during the time Florimel lived there, Sebastian spent much of his childhood in boarding schools and in travel, his mother distant and often absent, with no mention of his father's identity. When he was of age and the Axis powers threatened France, Flora taught him something of his true nature enough to keep him alive through the turmoil and danger to come. Sebastian then fought in the midst of the French resistance, and on several other battlefields, learning firsthand the means of making war, and of leading others. When he had emerged unscathed from the battle, he asked Flora then to take him his birthright, the Pattern. He walked it, and gained power over Shadow, and then sought his own fortune in the worlds which awaited him both of his own making and those set forth by his predecessors.
