Publicly Known Events

What follows is the series of major events that most have heard about, presented in rough chronological order by location.

In Amber

• Random has taken on a new advisor named Spendal, who is said to have been an acquaintence of Vialle's in Rebma.
• In the past year since Spendal has joined Random, many of the Crown's policies have began to gradually change
• Several government officials of Amber have been found murdered in a grisly fashion. All of them seem to have had holes carved into the backs of their heads
• Queen Vialle was found murdered in her rooms. Rumors abound about the nature of the wounds she received, but a common element
• Bleys, Fiona, and Corwin have all departed Amber. Corwin is said to have been declared persona non grata by Random. Corwin is also rumored to be conspiring against the king. Flora is believed to be in an estate of hers off in shadow, laying low. Bleys and Fiona are in parts unknown.
• An army has been massing in a little known area of shadow, close to Amber but curiously difficult to reach via Pattern. Study of the shadows of this army seem to indicate that they are marching towards Amber.
• The forefront of the army has actually reached the edges of Arden. The soldiers seem to be equipped in Egyptian-style accountrements, led by dog-headed men who ride in flying chariots drawn by sphinxes.
• The army managed to take Amber, and the identity of the leader has been revealed: Finndo. Prior to Amber's fall, Brand threw what remained of King Random at Finndo's flying chariot before coming out to attack Finndo himself. Brand was repulsed, and Finndo's taking of Amber is complete.
• Finndo has made overtures of peace towards Rebma. Rebma, in response, is sending an Embassy to meet with the new king.

• Marwin Morpheus has been discovered murdered in near to his personal ways in the Ways of Morpheus with a strange wound in the back of his head in addition to the killing blow in his back.
• Julia Barnes, consort of Prince Jurt, was found murdered under similar circumstances as Marwin. Jurt has since disappeared from Chaos.
• King Merlin escaped an assassination attempt recently. He has since placed a number of key officials from House Sawall under arrest, and has placed a bounty on the head of Mandor of House Sawall.

• The Lady Jasra was found murdered in Kashfa in her rooms. Rumor is that a strange and grisly hole was found in the back of her head.
• Strange creatures, unnatural even by the standards of the Courts, have been seeing gathering in numbers, throughout shadow.
