Some Rules to Live By

The Game has been played for several centuries, and over that time, some rules have come into being. These are mostly just to make each of the Player's lives easier. Granted, many of these traditions have been passed down by Closers, since they're the only ones who live to tell about it, so there could be a bit of a bias. These are some, and I'll add more as they come up, or as people suggest them. Given that the rules are word of mouth, it's easy to make some up without getting caught.
  • Don't Kill Anyone Before the Death of the Moon

This one has one real obvious motivation: until the Death of the Moon, you can can't be sure who is really on your side. So, you could be killing someone on your side. Also, there are said to be reprisals when disrupting the matrix that is in place that affect all the Players.

  • Don't Violate Another Player's Home

When a Player breaks into another Player's home, there seems to be a loophole which allows reprisal against the intruder. But then, would you really want to kill an ally?

  • All Players Must Have a Companion

An aspect of the forces involved requires that all Players to have a Companion. It is possible for a Companion to be associated with more than one Player, though not vice-versa. If a familiar is killed before the Death of the Moon, you can still replace him. After the Death, you can still Play in the final round of the Game, but you'll be working at a handicap.
