Aaron's Journal, Part Three

Everything Hurts.

<<One Day Later>>

Everything hurts, but not as much as it did from the Journal Entry before. (Also, it doesn't help when Mother snatches away my pen so I don't strain myself. Of course, I had to shamelessly roll onto my journal so she couldn't get at it. Works every time.) I'm going to have to make sure my writings are to the point, since I'm not sure when I'm going to able to focus them next. I'll at least have to wait after another nap.

I believe I wasn't successful, but I did enact something that was incredibly dangerous that I didn't know was in my capacity. Which makes me feel, to say the least, Terrific. It just hurts so!

Note: Whenever Fiona ever answers to a question with a "oh, it's nothing", remind her of this time and that I did nearly get myself killed, and that she needs to tell me immediately what she was thinking. I'm going to hope that this tactic will work more than once.

I was actually able to take a mental image of a Pattern I never walked before and manipulate it! Well, I'll admit, I really didn't do anything, but there is the possibility, and this opens up the door for a wealth of knowledge and information on the Pattern as we know it. I didn't know that it was possible - it also it evidence that there does exist Elemental Patterns, and that a Fire Pattern does exist. I'm thinking at this point it has been warped or damaged, since it's been never seen for thousands of years until now.

This makes me wonder, are there actually different extra abilities associated with the Pattern that we're not aware of? I'm going to assume for a moment that those zombies were not made with - never mind. They would have to be made with the assistance of Sorcery. Damn, it makes me wish that I were able to use Sorcery.

It does make me think of a completely different idea. Sorcery and Conjuration in association with Pattern would just be Pattern with a highly focused ability to mold shadow and reality. Sorcery somewhat "cheats" that way, doesn't it?

Question for Fiona: How is Sorcery and Conjuration different from manipulation with Pattern?

But it would be interesting if there were some sort of innate powers associated with Pattern, more specifically different Elemental Patterns, that we've never unlocked before. Or, it could be that we even have those extra abilities with us, it's just that we never noticed them because we're so used to Amber being one of the main Foci for Pattern.

It's just so much to think about. We're going to have to find a way to get to the bottom of this Zombie problem - which would mean finding this Fire Pattern, if it still exists and is possible to reach.

I'm planning as soon as I'm better to get to Rebma and walk their Pattern, and then try to get to the Fire Pattern from there.

I'm just trying to imagine what Fiona would say. Or Mother. It's madness.

What am I thinking?! Am I really trying to take care of the threats to Amber, or am I really that obsessed to learn everything about the Pattern?

- And then I realize that I'm holding my breath.

Amendment to Plan: I'll go to Rebma, and see if I can re-create my experiment with the Fire Pattern, but use the Water Pattern instead as a mental image. No, that may not work. The Tir? Only if it's available to me.

And even if I did somehow find a way to this mythical Fire Pattern, what would I do then? Walk that? Probably get myself killed, that's what.

I just know I'm setting myself up for a world of trouble. filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler filler
